SKIN RESURFACING TREATMENT

Skin resurfacing can be used to treat a variety of different skin concerns, such as fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, acne scars, and more. The results of treatment can vary depending on the specific concern being treated, but many patients see a noticeable improvement in the overall quality of their skin.

HOW SKIN RESURFACING SEEMS TO WORK

Employing a new technique that leaves small scars but is comparable to a surgical facelift. In order to create micro-dermal wounds with minimal impact on the epidermis, our nano-fractional skin resurfacing technology uses radio frequency administered through tiny needles. As a result, the skin can heal more quickly, with less discomfort and downtime, than with more conventional methods of skin resurfacing and remodeling. This significantly reduces facial and neck skin laxity, which was previously only possible through invasive surgery like a facelift. In addition, it resurfaces the skin to address wrinkling, fine lines, acne scarring, and scarring from surgery.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Approximately how many appointments must I commit to before I start to feel better?
The standard number of sessions per treated area is 3. The precise quantity will vary with each patient and the size of the affected area. Discuss your options for care with your medical provider.
Is there anything special I need to do before I get the treatment?
Get rid of any dirt or grime that might be on your skin. Before your treatment, don’t put on any lotions, creams, perfumes, powders, or makeup, and try not to get any sun. Take off any jewelry you may be wearing near the treatment area. You should shave the treatment region if there is considerable hair there. Don’t use tanning beds or sprays of any kind. It’s helpful to have your medical history handy, as the technician will likely ask for it.
How does this treatment make you feel?

After feeling like pins on your skin, you’ll get a mild electric shock. The sensation will be similar to getting a sunburn on your face.

And how painful do you anticipate it to be?
That could be unsettling, but it shouldn’t hurt. A severe heat, like that of a sunburn, will wash over you, and your face will be red immediately following treatment. For more intensive procedures, a numbing cream applied to the skin may be used.
When my treatment is complete, how will I feel?

After using it, your skin will look and feel sunburned, with a rosy hue and a warm sensation. Serums are provided for you to go home to help with this (not the lotions). Within 24 to 48 hours, you shouldn’t feel as heated.

What sort of downtime may I expect following treatment?
About 48 hours (or up to 5 days for more extreme treatments) afterward. Because of the risk of infection, you should avoid getting anything other than cool water or air on your skin for the first 24 hours. This means no hot yoga or other exercises that may cause you to perspire heavily. Within 48 hours, your skin should be significantly less red and the next week, your skin will feel very rough (like sandpaper). You can use makeup and go back to your regular skincare routine after 48 hours. Sunscreen of at least SPF 30 should be worn, ideally a chemical-free variety. However, for the first two days after your session, you should refrain from strenuous exercise and hot baths or massages on the treated region. Keep your skin clean and covered up to avoid sun damage. Don’t get a tan under any circumstances.
What steps should I take following my treatment?
If your skin is feeling too warm, apply one of the serums that came with your kit to help bring down the temperature. Stay away from the treated area and avoid touching or scratching it. For the next 24 hours, avoid getting anything (even water) on your skin. Sunscreen with at least 30 SPF, ideally chemical-free, can be applied after 24 hours. As an added precaution, for the first two days after your session, you should stay away from strenuous exercise as well as hot baths and massages on the treated area. Keep your skin clean and covered up to avoid sun damage. Don’t get a tan under any circumstances
Is it okay to put lotion or makeup on immediately after my treatment?"
No. Makeup and lotion should not be applied for at least 48 hours following therapy.
